Privacy Policy

Smart Recorder ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. The App records your screen and can optionally record microphone audio when you choose. No account is required. All recordings, screenshots and settings are stored locally on your device. The App itself does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information.

1. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following information locally on your device:

• Screen recordings created by you
• Screenshots captured during recording
• Recording preferences such as resolution, frame rate and audio source
• App settings and preferences

2. Screen Recording

The App uses the Android MediaProjection API to record screen content only after you explicitly grant permission. Screen recordings are processed entirely on your device.

3. Screenshots

You may capture screenshots while recording. Screenshots are saved locally to your device and are never transmitted.

4. Permissions

The App requests only the permissions required for its core functionality:

• RECORD_AUDIO – record microphone audio when enabled by you.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION – keep screen recording running reliably.
• SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW – display the floating recording controls.
• READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android versions) – access recordings and screenshots.
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below) – save recordings.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS – display recording status notifications.
• WAKE_LOCK – help maintain recording reliability while active.

5. Data Sharing

The App does not upload your recordings, screenshots or settings. Files are shared with other apps only when you explicitly choose to share them using Android's sharing features.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date.
